Privacy and contact

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. There are no sign-ups, no advertising and no cookies set by us.

Like every website host, our host (Cloudflare) processes basic technical information to deliver pages, such as your IP address and the pages requested. We don't use it to identify you.

To count visits and see how fast pages load, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you across other sites, and only shows us totals, such as how many people viewed a page.

Searching and your location

Other services the site uses

To show the site and its map, your browser connects to these services, which receive your IP address as part of normal web traffic:

Links to other sites, such as Google Maps reviews, health authority inspection reports or Government of BC pages, only connect you to those sites when you click them. Their own privacy policies apply there.

For child care providers

Facility listings come from the Province's Child Care Map Data, which the Province publishes so families can find licensed child care. We show the same kind of information, with extra care for home-based providers:

If something about your facility is wrong, or you'd like your listing removed from BC Tots, email [email protected] with the facility name and city. We'll remove a listing within a week of your request. Details such as vacancies and hours come from what you report to the Province, so please update them there too.

Concerns and complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we'll do our best to fix it. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
